Check Tire Pressure Monthly — It Changes with Temperature

The Problem

You never check tire pressure. Your tires are probably 5-10 PSI low right now.

The Hack

Find correct PSI on the driver's door jamb sticker (NOT the tire sidewall). Check all 4 tires plus spare with a $3 gauge when tires are cold (before driving). Fill at a gas station air pump.

Why It Works

For every 1 PSI below recommended, you lose 0.2% fuel efficiency and tires wear faster. Tires lose 1-2 PSI per month naturally and 1 PSI per 10°F temperature drop.

Pro Tips

  • Correct PSI is on the door jamb sticker — usually 32-35 PSI
  • Check when cold — driving heats tires and raises pressure
  • $3 gauge from any auto parts store
  • Most gas stations have free air — some charge $1-2
