Diatomaceous Earth for Roach Control

The Problem

Roaches appear in your kitchen and bathrooms. Chemical sprays are toxic, especially around food prep areas.

The Hack

Apply a thin line of food-grade diatomaceous earth along baseboards, under the fridge, behind the stove, and under sinks. Reapply after cleaning.

Why It Works

DE is fossilized algae with microscopic sharp edges that cut through insect exoskeletons, causing dehydration. It's harmless to humans and pets but deadly to roaches.

Pro Tips

  • Use FOOD-GRADE DE only — pool-grade is dangerous to inhale
  • Apply in thin layers — thick piles make roaches walk around it
  • Takes 24-48 hours to kill roaches that walk through it
  • Also kills ants, fleas, bed bugs, and silverfish
