Fix Stripped Screw Holes with Toothpicks

The Problem

Cabinet doors sag because hinge screws stripped out of the wood.

The Hack

Remove screw. Dip toothpick in wood glue, push into hole. Snap flush. Dry 10 min. Rescrew.

Why It Works

Stripped holes have crushed wood fibers. Toothpicks fill the void giving screw threads fresh wood.

Pro Tips

  • Two toothpicks for badly stripped holes
  • Works on any stripped wood screw hole
  • Golf tees work for larger holes
  • Let glue fully dry for max hold
