Use a Slow Cooker Liner Bag for Zero Cleanup

The Problem

Cleaning baked-on crockpot residue takes 20+ minutes of soaking and scrubbing.

The Hack

Place a slow cooker liner bag (sold at grocery stores near the bags/wraps aisle) inside your crockpot before adding any ingredients. Cook as normal. When done, lift the bag out and discard.

Why It Works

The liner creates a barrier between food and the ceramic insert, preventing any contact or buildup. After cooking, the insert is as clean as when you started.

Pro Tips

  • Reynolds and Crock-Pot brand liners both work well
  • About $0.50 per liner — worth it for the time saved
  • Don't use regular plastic bags — they'll melt. Only use slow-cooker-rated liners
  • Some people find the bags affect browning — remove for the last hour if you want a crust
