Clean Your Charging Port with a Toothpick

The Problem

Your phone won't charge or the cable feels loose. You think the port is broken.

The Hack

Power off your phone. Gently scrape lint and debris from the charging port using a wooden or plastic toothpick. Blow out loosened debris.

Why It Works

Pocket lint compresses at the bottom of the port over months, preventing the cable from fully inserting. Removing it restores the connection — no repair needed.

Pro Tips

  • Use a WOODEN toothpick — metal can damage contacts
  • Don't use compressed air — it can push lint deeper
  • This fixes 80% of 'phone won't charge' complaints
  • Be gentle — the port contacts are fragile
